Worksite Guidelines

YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE CONSTRUCTION SKILLS TO VOLUNTEER WITH US, WE WILL GLADLY TRAIN YOU!!

Workday Schedule

  • Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday Mornings
  • 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

    Age Policy

  • All construction volunteers must be age 16 or older  to assist on an HFHMC construction site.
  • One adult supervisor should accompany every five youth volunteers(ages 16-18).  Adult sponsors are responsible for assuring all applicable HFHMC construction site and age restriction policies are followed.

    What to Wear
Closed-toe tennis shoes or boots are required.  Clothes you don't mind getting dirty are strongly encouraged.  Light colored, cotton clothing and a hat are recommended for the summer (shorts are okay).  Layered clothing is recommended for the winter.  Jewelry is not allowed, because it can get damaged or lost very easily.

    What to Bring
Plastic drinking cup or bottle is required (water is provided on site).  Suggested items to bring if you have them: work gloves, earplugs, basic tools (hammer, screwdriver, utility knife, tape measure, pliers, construction pencil, etc.).  If you do not have tools we will have them for you on site.  Please mark all of your items with your name; we do not want to get your tools confused with ours.  If you know what type of work you will be doing that day and you have task specific tools, please bring them. Do not bring: purses, pets or children.

    Other Information

  • No smoking, drugs or alcohol at a work site.
  • Volunteers under 18 years of age MUST bring a waiver of liability that has been signed by their parent/guardian, with them to the site.
  • Volunteers are asked to not park in front of anyone's driveway or mailbox.
  • Construction locations, workdays and assignments are subject to change due to the unpredictable nature the weather and of volunteer construction work.  Your patience and cooperation is appreciated so that we can ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
